Within the framework of the directives of President/ Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi to release the burdens on the citizens, and under patronage of Prof. Mohammed Hussain, Tanta University President; Prof. Mahmoud Salim, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Faten Abu Taleb, Dean of Faculty of Dentistry; and Prof. Yasser Al-Makaky, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, Community Service and Environmental Development Department at the faculty organized the initiative, “A Hundred Smiles” to eradicate the waiting lists and to release the burdens on the citizens of Ghrabia Governorate. During the initiative, one hundred cases were treated including (root canal treatments, routine fillings, pediatric, and surgery) in attendance of a number of academic staff, assistant staff, as well as 100 intern dentists. The patients listened to the instructions of the dentists on how to brush their teeth and protect them. Tooth brushes and toothpaste were disseminated on all the patients.
