Infection Control Unit

Vision

  • Infection Control Unit is an integrated system that covers all departments of Faculty of Dentistry, including clinics, laboratories, administrative departments, and the medical screening vehicle that operates outside the faculty in villages and cities across the governorate through medical convoys.
  • The unit carries out its work through awareness, training, and regular follow-up of all clinics and laboratories of the faculty to ensure the provision of comprehensive medical services that include the use of the latest techniques of infection control.

Mission

The mission of the unit focuses on conveying the concept of infection prevention to every dentist, nurse, and academic staff at the faculty, enabling them to protect themselves from the risk of exposure to infectious diseases.

  • Establishing the rules and principles of infection control and informing all the departments.
  • Monitoring and applying scientific methods to prevent the spread of infection in all clinics and laboratories across the different departments of the faculty.
  • Submitting observation reports to the heads of departments.
  • Providing training and organizing scientific seminars for all groups exposed to infection (demonstrators, intern dentists, students, nursing staff, and workers).
  • Conducting regular supervision of the sterilization department at the faculty.
