Vision

  • To make the Faculty of Dentistry, Tanta University, a safe educational and clinical institution equipped with all mechanisms and systems required for handling emergencies, crises, and disasters that may threaten the security, stability, and continuity of its educational, clinical, and community services.
  • Crisis preparedness and proactive planning for potential disruptions or emergencies during daily operations should become an integral part of the overall planning process and a standard operational practice within the Faculty and University Hospitals.

Mission

This is achieved through the provision of the necessary material and environmental preparations that ensure safety and the smooth progress of the educational and clinical processes within the faculty.
The Unit is also committed to training all faculty personnel—including students, academic staff, employees, and nursing staff—on how to act appropriately in the event of a crisis or disaster. This contributes to maintaining the safety of the faculty environment, sustaining its services, and ensuring the delivery of distinguished educational, clinical, and community services that align with the faculty’s goals of progress and excellence, thereby facilitating accreditation attainment and sustainability.

  • Establishing an Occupational Safety and Health System within the Faculty.
  • Maintaining the safety and security of all staff members and beneficiaries of the services provided by the Faculty of Dentistry.
  • This is achieved through the development of a comprehensive Emergency, Crisis, and Disaster Management Plan to address any unexpected situations that the Faculty may face.
  • Periodic review of the plan to incorporate any modifications or additions deemed necessary by the Unit’s management.
  • Organizing training courses for students and all faculty personnel on appropriate actions to take during emergencies that require a prompt and effective response.
  • Conducting regular drills and simulations to practice real-life responses during potential disaster scenarios within the Faculty.
  • Periodically evaluating the performance of the Unit and its members to ensure continuous improvement and effectiveness.
